Scott Richardson
Certificate III in Food Processing
CDS Gourmet Foods employee, Scott Richardson won the 2006 Innoven Achievement Award for most outstanding student at Goulburn Ovens Institute of TAFE's graduation ceremony recently.
Scott's award was sponsored by SPC Ardmona and was presented by Lloyd Filer, Director Human Resources at SPC Ardmona.
Scott was a Certificate III in Food Processing trainee employed by CDS Gourmet Foods, a subsidiary of Nestlé. During the course of his traineeship Scott received a promotion from Cook Tank Operator to Production Team Leader.
Scott was nominated for the award in recognition of his outstanding effort during his traineeship. Scott is based in Melbourne and completed the training by flexible delivery. He has had to be self driven and motivated in order to complete his traineeship.
Although given resources for his training, Scott had to seek further information through talking to key players within Nestlé as well as seek information through other company and equipment supplier resources.
The work Scott has done as part of his traineeship has been extremely beneficial for CDS Gourmet Foods and has been incorporated into their quality and OHS systems. The induction booklets produced by Scott are being used as part of the training program at CDS Gourmet Foods for both new and existing operators as well as for contractor and visitor inductions.
Scott has become an active member of the Food Safety Team as a result of his commencement in the unit "Participate in a HACCP Team". Any audits carried out by Scott as part of both this and other units he has completed and any corrective action or recommendations arising from these audits have been included as part of the quality system at CDS Gourmet Foods.
